SKATEYOGI was born on a cold winter day in 2013. During a post-yoga chat, Kevin was inspired by Urban Asanas founder Jyll to teach a skateboarding class at her studio for adult beginners. Overtime it expanded to kids and now everyone can join the fun! Initially called Skate Yogis, the program became officially known as SKATEYOGI – all caps in one word – to keep the spirit of where this all began. In December 2016, we opened our own indoor space at 140 Empire Blvd. SKATEYOGI has partnered with organizations such as VF Corporation (House of Vans), Friends Seminary, Village Community School and Sunnyside Gardens Park.
